BMW experienced three major crises within the history that has threatened the business, but ultimately only offered making it more effective. BMW experienced its third crisis in 1959 when the management wanted to market the troubled vehicle maker to new entrepreneurs. The primary investor in those days will be a guy named Herbert Quandt, and the man almost signed the sale before figuring out within the last second, against advice from his bank, to actually increase his shares in BMW. He then possessed 50% in the German vehicle manufacturer, before turning the companys fortunes around.
Only a few years later BMW was ready for expansion, and bought in the organization Hendes Glas GmbH, which held production facilities in Landshut and Dingolfing enabling the productions of latest BMW cars.
When Herbert Werner Quandt died in 1982, his huge fortune was passed to his daughter Susanne Klatten, who's now considered as since the wealthiest lady in Germany.
